 Reading Comprehension

A boy, named Joseph, lived in France. He used to run fast across the fields of his village. He was a fast runner among his friends. His fellows often complained that he skipped the paths. Once he was as usual going in his routine, he was caught on his way by a fierce dog. The animal was expert in his doings. His tearing jaws, long and pointed teeth were ready to apart his skin. Joseph was almost lying under on the ground. The dog was to pound him to pieces that some hues and cries diverted his attention. When the dog found that some guys having some sticks in their hands approached the boy it fled from the spot.
Now Joseph was at alert when he got aloof on way back to home from school. He remained afraid that the dangerous dog would be finding chances of holding him. He often reacted like automation on some things. He was once caught suddenly when he did not expect the happening. His voice choked in his throat, color faded and he was fainting on the ground. It looked that his last time came. He hoped of some miracle to exist there. But the result was going to be a fatal one in his favor. No good news was there for the boy.
After all, he had to take some defensive steps. When anyone is entrapped in such a situation where there is apparently no human appearance the existing takes some gusto. Thus, Joseph gathered in his hands stones and whatever he got. He began to throw on the dog. Some were aimed at the animal but some missed. On the other hand, the dog attacked but being afraid of injury it retreated. It was Joseph’s turn which made dog at heels. Joseph was raising high wires and challenged that running mad dog leaving the field. Someone really said right a proverb that do not put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Books are our great companions. They encourage us in many ways. For example, when we have no friends they take us into their world where we meet many people. We may read and enjoy their relation. In our real life, we cannot enjoy as we may do in reading books. They develop in us the habit of imagination. We start thinking about things and in no time become expert. Our real friend cannot make us so as these books can spell.

The element of sex-erraticism is full in it. They start from head to toe and keep on narrating all minutest details. It is called vulgarity. These books are more poisonous than snakes. A snake stings you once but their stings injure our soul. The aim of reading is reformation and not only to destroy yourself in depleted things.
Instead of these dwindling, we must look forward to scientific fiction. We should seek solar energy and its uses for better objectives. There are many other topics to find search on. There are religious, ethics, politics, moon-readings, astrology, astronomy and palmistry etc. The world is not ended here. We must study geology where we will know about changes in earth and layers.      It has been observed in Great Britain that the elderly people get a little respect by the young ones. What might be the reason that a developed nation is far behind in this part of life. But on the other hand, Sub-continent people are keeping this great gesture in hold. Not very large scale values are devoted to elderly people but more than British is displayed. Here, Muslims teach and train the children to salute and shake hands with equal and elders in every respect. Even in Indian culture we see that young pay some respect to the elderly and equals. The Sikh also are of same category it is because of these nations have been living together for centuries. It is man’s nature to copy each other.

But when we have faced it we are relaxed and relieved. The wheel of fortune does not leave anyone and passes over head that comes in its move. Time and tide wait for none. Time and experience are best teachers and by their help we learn many lessons. In our life experience we learn that dreams are our reflections of incomplete wishes.
In dreams, we are at sixes and sevens. Their order is not planned. Every event is not well-knit. But their effect is significant. Women are mostly affected by them. For example, If they see any magic or spell in them then it is inevitable that they will reveal before public. Women tell about their dreams like a story and a serious happening. They expect that everyone should listen and react positively. They make faces and seek reactions on others face. They want the desired answer what they think the right answer. It is very ridiculous on women’s part to have a planned dream, moreover, they want nodding in yes.
They are not two or three dimensional but they are multi-dimensional. Some experts say that they have seven dimensions. Along with this reading we have no meaningful dreams. They are very haphazard. Most of dreams are soundless but it is our brain that translates them. They also have no color in them. But as we see color in our real life and give the same color to our dream world. They indicate towards our trends in future. Sometimes, what we are doing in life is shown in dreams and sometimes it hints that some happening is going to take place. Some are happy but some are very horrible in nature.       Punjab Government under the supervision of Chief Minister, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif has announced against recently terrific news of increasing fees in government schools as well as semi government schools. This news has exploded people of mediocre class. Where people find it hard to meet their daily expenditures there they have to meet these new challenges.
All types of insecure apprehensive situations create fuss and ambiguity in people mind. Nobody is safe and has a clear view of the unexpected government that some explosion is ready for them. It has been in the observation that the government officials do their own and levy many unfair taxes on people as they are ordered because of the fact that these tax-payers are only the citizens of Pakistan.
On cable channel City42 it was remorsefully relayed that CM Punjab is against the high school fees. But the school run under Lahore Development Authority- LDA has also increased fee up to Rs, 500/- , this is not an injustice. If asked the authority says that we have not increased for the last four years.
Chief Minister is an excuse-maker himself. He is quite unable to hold and govern the Punjab. He only asks his crew about finances and nothing else. People are agitating against this increment. But no response is being passed from the government officials. Mr. CM only makes paper propaganda and no legal and practical step is being taken against.
It is in observation that all English medium schools including Beacon House School Systems, Unique School Systems, The City School Systems, The Educators and many other systems like Kips and other shark school systems have high approaches to Education Offices. How only single and weak based people of Govt. can have a closure to these schools and their matters.
Kasore scandal is a big example of corruption. Nothing has been done to arrest any criminal. Only papers are blackened and proper strategy is followed. If government challenges that she has caught all the mafia involved in the case then all must be hanged in the opera. No big decision is being surmounted in Kasore case , so to say, this high fees case will be put to an end. Once in last four years a step by the parents was taken against LDA Model High School, Allama Iqbal Town Branch parents and school boys and girls agitated, boycotted and jammed the traffic. But government took no notice. Mr. Shahbaz Sharif knows jiggling and plays good feats with the Punjabis.
It is rather very shameful to say that he and his cabinet members are like pirates. They are afraid of coming in the mid of shoal of people but they will face many queries in their eyes as once they may come. They are burglars or dacoits or cut throats or extorters or what names we should assign to them. I leave all the names to you.
Questions
1.     What must people do for fees?
2.     What title we must confer the cabinet?
3.     What is real role of provincial government?
4.     How do you define shark school system?
5.     Give a suitable title?

The value of education is prevalent fact in all over the world. Nobody can deny it that without education we can make ultimate progress. In education, we learn and apply our knowledge on things and people. It is not only that we are well aware but also get benefits. Awareness of facts and figures is very important element of education. By this trait we become able to find more truth of universe. A great deal of search has been made and still in process. In almost all fields of education people are exploring ways to heaven on earth.
If real progress is measured then it is surmised that shoulder to shoulder work of both genders is significant. But within this reality there have been bad experiences of the past hinder our step somewhere. Here in our country people are no more reactive. It is due to the fact of low education rate. A large part of population lives in villages. Mostly a family member earns for almost four persons and many families cannot afford education. The expenses of books, uniform, transport and heavy fees are great burdens. Elderly people dislike educating their daughters after matriculation. They marry them and new life starts afterward.
In urban areas, girls get co-education in some colleges and almost in all universities. The sense of competition is a distinctive feature of co-education. It is not only that each boy should have a girl by his side; there may be two separate rows of boys and girls. They will be free in seating and expression. America, The Great Britain and other developed countries are still following co-education. It is upon the use and method that you apply and not the thing in itself bad.
Not only men but also women should search and find ways to progress. Muslim is not far behind in any aspect that we should be frustrated. It must be that do as the Romans do. if we want to be volatile and energetic nation we will have to take up equal measures like others. We want that our quality standard if not exceptional or excellent then it is enough to meet some of credentials. Both genders are identical; know each other; acquaint the demands of person and public and furthermore, priority is collective interest of country.
Questions
1.     What is the advantage of co-education?
2.     What is different in city and village for education?
3.     What are bad experiences of past?
4.     What is significant in education?
5.     Title?

Reading 8

Love is a private passion. It is a personal matter. it is connected with ourselves. Its main subject is man-soul. Its main theme is wishes and aspiration for the lover or beloved. We can say it or name it universal but in broad sense of word. It has some limited range. We can love only those with whom we have personal contact. Then, what is it? a limited extension to a person only. It is obvious in meaning that love conquers all. It is very active passion but I would say again it a limited one.
Our life has no relation if we minus this passion –love. It is such a bond that binds us in belongings. Many poets, writers, dramatists, novelists and artists work on it. Many films have been produced on it. But more work is needed to focus it. Who is not familiar with Shakespeare and Keats who wrote many loving pieces in literature? They are great solicitors of love but still it has no range for re-construction of country.
If you have old structured buildings and need new in the place what style would be possible. Suppose that you have no experts of the type you need in reconstruction. Now it is observed that in architecture we find new designs and methods we often don’t possess. This is our same condition in machine work. We have no more new industry in Pakistan. What would be your exact answer to this lower state?
Tolerance, not love that wins your girl’s heart, means to bear someone. If we tolerate somebody we shall start liking him or her first. Then, we start love. Thus, love is a secondary passion. It is altruistic and broad-mindedness if someone takes up tolerance for reconstructing things. We need it on many places. Man is a social animal. He has learnt it in many centuries. If still, he leaves behind modern notions and contradict and collide against best ideas of development and advancement then his plight is pitiable. In love we can enjoy personally but cannot relish on collective level.
Questions
1.     What is difference between love and tolerance?
2.     What is function of tolerance?
3.     Without love what would we do?
4.     Without tolerance we are nothing, Discuss>
5.     What would be suitable title?
